Project overview

Employees around the loading dock area at Darcor Casters and Wheels were uncomfortable while loading and unloading trailers from exposure to cold drafts and turned to Northern Dock Sytems to find a viable solution.

NDS recommended and installed three Enershield Air Barriers over their dock doors to create a strong environmental separation, sealing the door by up to 90%. Enershield Air Barriers allowed Darcor employees to keep their dock doors open for extended periods of time to:

• Maintain their operational efficiency by keeping their doors open.
• Increase safety for workers around the loading dock.
• Enhance indoor comfort by preventing cold air infiltration.

In addition to increasing their efficiency, safety and indoor comfort, Northern Dock Systems facilitated energy rebates with Darcor’s local utility company. After installing air barriers, Darcor has now reduced their energy consumption and enjoy an estimated $5,996.16 in savings on their annual energy bill.
