THE CHALLENGE

The customer was tired of everything wearing out prematurely and not providing a good seal. As a cold storage facility, infiltration around the docks is very important to prevent. In addition, their current spring style dock bumpers created openings around the dock lip and trailer area.

OUR SOLUTION

Nordock Weartough Seal-Tite Foam Dock Seal and Steel-face Bumpers provide a complete seal solution. The unique side pad design of the Seal-Tite captures and closes off the air gap created by the swing out trailer doors. Additionally, this puts less pressure on the seals which increases their total life expectancy.

The combination of 50oz Weartough material and 4″ Wear pleats also assists in longevity. Filler pads were also added below the side pads and beside the bumpers for additional sealing.

The head pad was made with a sloped top to prevent birds from nesting on top. A 6″ drop curtain c/w weighted bottom was added to capture any occasional lower trailer they may approach.

Lastly, bumpers were replaced with steel face style bumpers to further close up gaps between the dock lip and trailer.
