We are looking for a full-time permanent Construction Project Manager to join our Mississauga Team.

Job Summary

Northern Dock Systems is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager (PM) to oversee the supply and installation of our products across Ontario and Canada. As a key member of the Construction Team, the PM will lead, plan, and execute projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and adherence to NDS quality and safety standards.

This role involves close collaboration with general contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution, no matter the scale. The ideal candidate will have a PMP designation, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and a proven track record of managing commercial/industrial construction projects.

What will you be doing?

Project Execution & Delivery:

  • Plan, organize, budget, and manage all aspects of construction projects to ensure successful and timely completion.
  • Review project contracts and specifications to determine scope, budget, safety requirements, and timelines.
  • Develop execution plans outlining staffing, materials, subcontracting, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate with installation teams and subcontractors to ensure compliance with designs, quality, and safety standards.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, architects, engineers, and project owners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications, ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Manage project meetings, progress reports, and contractual obligations.

Financial & Risk Management:

  • Verify project estimates and ensure budget alignment.
  • Handle project financials, including proposals, change orders, and progress value reports.
  • Anticipate potential roadblocks and develop proactive solutions.

On-Site Coordination & Problem-Solving:

  • Monitor on-site activities, quality control, and safety compliance.
  • Address and resolve challenges that arise during project execution.
  • Ensure efficient use of materials, equipment, and resources.

What skills, experience and education are we looking for?

  • PMP designation is an asset.o Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Manager in commercial/industrial construction.
  • Strong experience in cost control, materials management, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Dynamics.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schedules, and contracts.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
