Sales Manager

Position: Sales Manager
Location: Mississauga, ON
Manager: Vice-President
Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

We are looking for a full-time permanent Sales Manager to join our Mississauga team.

What will you be doing?

Strategic Planning

  • Lead the preparation of the Annual Sales Plan, Budgets, and objectives.
  • Represent the Sales Department as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Prepare individual Sales forecasts and Gross Profit expectations.
  • Monitor the activity of competition and prepare annual Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats analysis.
  • Formulate all sales policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Steward Vendor negotiations and the approval process.

Human Capital Management

  • Continue to build the sales team by adding new employees who align with our company’s core values.
  • Provide stable and rewarding equal opportunity employment to the Sales Team.
  • Create an atmosphere in which the Sales Team willingly produces at maximum capacity.
  • Set activity targets and hold direct reports accountable for these goals
  • Conduct weekly Goal Setting & Review meetings with all direct reports.
  • Lead daily Sales Team Meetings that include Vendor Product Training.
  • Contribute to the development of and maintain a Sales Training Program.
  • Assist the General Manager in forecasting Human Capital requirements.
  • Act as the lead in all Sales Team employee relations.

Sales Management

  • Use our CRM system to manage all areas of leads, opportunities, prospects, and customers to hold our sales team accountable to their KPI.
  • Through active leadership, coaching and performance management, ensure the Company’s Total Revenue and Gross Profit expectations are met and/or exceeded.
  • Provides daily mentoring to ensure the skills development of the Sales Team
  • Travel with individual reps to coach, mentor, and close sales on a regular set schedule
  • Ensure that the Sales Team provides a high level of attention to customer service on a timely basis, with a set call plan for their complete customer base.
  • Develop a list, floor and ceiling price and provide quotation price analysis and approval, including bid strategy.
  • Perform an annual review of customer profitability as part of the renewal process
  • Assign all new business opportunities.

Administrative Management

  • Ensure vendor and client file integrity in Microsoft NAV.
  • Ensure the development and documentation of a formal sales process to increase salesperson efficiency.

What skills, experience and education are we looking for?

  • Completed post-secondary education.
  • 7-10 years of sales experience.
  • 3-5 years of sales management experience.
  • Experience with technical sales is an asset, or a personal passion for technical tools.
  • Experience leading a team of 6-12 sales professionals.
  • Ability to lead others in an accountable, supportive and motivating fashion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through various channels (i.e. verbal, email, presentations, relationship building).
  • Capable of effectively contributing to the senior leadership team of the organization and looking at business challenges from different perspectives.
  • Ability to travel within Ontario to support the sales team.
  • Experience with Microsoft NAV or other CRM tools is an asset.
