Brush weather seal for loading docks and doors

CHALLENGES

Dedicated to making and warehousing high-quality beverages in their plant, Pepsi needed to ensure every effort was made to deter pests or debris from entering their facility. Here a solution was needed to ensure the door bottom seal could not be chewed by pests or deteriorate from the cold Canadian winters. This concern is a problem for many sites when colder outside temperatures cause animals to seek shelter in warmer areas.

OUR SOLUTION

Northern Dock Systems installed brush weather seal on the bottom door panel to guarantee pests could not come through and seek shelter in the warehouse space. This ensured the warehouse remained sanitary and no safety concerns could be created.

With a thick bristle embedded into a metal channel, brush weather seal is proven to be a long-term solution because it will not crack or deteriorate like some u-shaped rubber seals. The added benefit comes from the brush applying a downward force on the docks which creates an obstacle for anything to pass through. In combination to the seal at the bottom, in track weather seal is also used at this facility to prevent air from entering at the door sides.
