Upgrading a Critical Freezer Door System
Seenergy Foods Limited faced the challenge of maintaining strict temperature control in their -10°C freezer while improving operational reliability. The existing high-speed door needed to be removed and kept onsite for spare parts, and a new solution was required to meet the demands of a busy food processing environment.

Our team supplied and installed a state-of-the-art Hormann Chillfast insulated roll-up freezer door, specifically engineered for cold storage and food distribution facilities. The customer opted not to include an air barrier for this opening, focusing on the advanced features of the Chillfast system.

The Hormann Chillfast door is a high-performance, impactable freezer door system designed to minimize energy loss and reduce ice build-up. Its insulated roll-up design sustains low temperatures and can be paired with an optional heated air curtain for enhanced safety and efficiency.

Red / Green Door Monitoring Light Strips
Additionally, new LED door monitoring lights were installed on both sides of the door, enhancing visibility and workflow for staff. The traffic light strip turns green when the door is fully open, flashes red when closing and turns solid red when closed.
Seamless Integration with Existing Infrastructure
The existing motion sensors were carefully relocated and integrated with the new door, ensuring continued safety and automation.
Satisfaction and Future Enhancements
After thorough testing—including multiple cycles using the customer’s forklift—the new system performed flawlessly. The customer expressed high satisfaction with the improved efficiency and reliability. A transmitter and receiver were installed, with one unit left onsite for forklift drivers to test and provide feedback. Plans are underway to add push buttons to each forklift for even greater convenience.
