An HVAC manufacturing facility in Ajax, Ontario, wanted to improve ergonomics on its production floor. Assembly teams regularly worked with products of varying sizes, requiring frequent repositioning throughout different stages of the build.

Traditional fixed‑height workstations made it difficult for workers to maintain consistent posture, increasing physical strain during both assembly and welding tasks.

Workstations That Adjust to the Worker — Not the Other Way Around

To support operator comfort and flexibility, the manufacturer partnered with Northern Dock Systems to install in‑plant lift tables designed to move up and down with the work.

By allowing components to be positioned at elbow height, the lift tables help operators maintain proper posture throughout the entire assembly process, regardless of product size or build stage.

The installed lift tables were configured to meet both assembly and welding requirements on the production floor.

To support welding operations, a custom copper top was added after installation. The copper surface allows resistance weldingdirectly on the table while maintaining durability and consistent working height.
