The Problem with Roll-Up Freezer Doors

  • Roll-up freezer doors can only go up to an R-4 value for insulation while these sliding doors have are R-17, R-30 or R-50 rated.
  • Buildings are being built with taller and taller openings. Fabric freezer doors can only go up to a maximum of 12′. These sliding doors can get as big as 19′.
  • Roll-up freezer doors require heated blowers to prevent frost from building up on the bottom which can cost $8,000 to $9,000 in energy costs to run. Heated blowers can only cover 12′.
  • Forklifts often the bottom bar or leading edge of roll-up freezer doors as it is above the operator’s line of sight, leading to high repair costs. These sliding doors are built to withstand impacts and can easily be reset after an impact.
  • Horizontal doors have less distance to cover than vertical doors when opening, allowing them to have faster opening speeds.

The standard and impactable series utilize a revolutionary full perimeter non-marking double gasket system along with a “down and in” track design for superior efficiency.

An exclusive seamless rail system provides a self-cleaning, virtually frictionless surface, providing lifelong lubrication on nylon roller wheels. A high torque synchronous drive belt is tested millions of cycles and also requires no lubrication to minimize maintenance costs.

These models are perfect for facilities where the door is opened 100 or even 600 times a day. The more times you open the door, the greater the risk of impact and convention (ice forming on inside of the freezer and on the floor outside the freezer from outside and inside air mixing).
