A Customer Success Story from Northern Dock Systems
Project Overview
Restoring Operations with Expert Door Service
A major facility in Brampton, ON, experienced a sudden failure with its main receiving sectional overhead door. Both cables had come off, rendering the door inoperable. With no lift available on site and the door down, the customer faced a critical disruption to their daily operations.
Rapid Response and Assessment
Northern Dock Systems responded promptly to the service request. Our technician, Dan, arrived on site and checked in with both the customer and the facility manager. Upon inspecting Door 12, Dan discovered that both cables were not only off but also badly frayed—one of the top two reasons for overhead doors to fail and potentially come crashing down on anything or anyone underneath. Recognizing the urgent safety risk, Daniel immediately began work to restore functionality.
Expert Repairs and Adjustments
The repair process involved replacing both damaged cables with new ones, eliminating the immediate hazard. Dan also found that the door’s limit assembly was loose and the limit nut was out of adjustment. He carefully removed the limits and control panel, tightened the bracing, and reset the limits to ensure proper operation.
Thorough Testing and Completion
Once repairs were completed, Dan tested the door in both open and closed positions to verify that all systems were functioning correctly. The equipment passed all checks, and the door was restored to full working order. The job was completed efficiently, with no further action required.

Thanks to Northern Dock Systems’ expertise and commitment to quality service, the customer’s main receiving door was quickly and reliably repaired.
