April 22, 2026

Earth Day is a time to reflect on real progress, not just intentions. Over the past year, Northern Dock Systems continued to expand its impact through energy‑efficient upgrades that help industrial and commercial facilities reduce energy use, lower emissions, and improve long‑term operating costs.

When compared to our previous Enbridge Gas program results, the growth is clear and measurable.

Over $2 Million in Energy Incentive Funding Secured for Our Customers

One of the most impactful outcomes of these projects is the financial benefit delivered to customers. By leveraging available conservation and incentive programs, we secured $2,233,210 in funding to help offset project costs.

Previously, we secured nearly $1.66 million in funding, meaning customers benefited from an additional $573,000+ in incentives last year, a 34% increase in funding support.

This incentive funding made energy‑efficiency upgrades more accessible, accelerating project timelines and improving return on investment. For many customers, these programs were the difference between delaying an upgrade and moving forward with confidence.

189 Energy Conservation Projects Completed in One Year

Over the past year, we completed 189 energy conservation projects, expanding significantly beyond the 141 Ontario customers supported in our earlier Enbridge Gas program results. This is a 34% increase in project volume, showing both growing demand and our continued focus on delivering high‑impact energy solutions.

These projects focused on practical, high‑impact upgrades that reduce energy waste and improve facility performance without disrupting day‑to‑day operations.

By targeting areas with the greatest savings potential, such as large doorways, our customers were able to see results in both energy savings and cost reduction.

Over 1.75 Million m³ of Natural Gas Saved Annually

Through these conservation efforts, our customers are collectively saving 1,750,515 cubic metres of natural gas every year.

In comparison, our previous year had 1,190,385 m³ of annual natural gas savings. This is an increase of more than 560,000 m³ per year, which is over 47% growth in annual energy savings.

Reducing natural gas consumption not only lowers utility costs but also plays a critical role in minimizing environmental impact. These annual savings represent long‑term, repeatable energy savings that deliver value year after year.

3,382 Tonnes of CO₂ Emissions Reduced Each Year

Reduced energy consumption directly supports emissions reduction. Our latest results show 3,382 tonnes of CO₂ emissions reduced annually, compared to 2,299.82 tonnes reported previously.

That’s an increase of over 1,080 tonnes of CO₂ reduced each year! As a result, there’s a 47% growth in emissions reduction impact.

That’s a meaningful step toward lower‑carbon operations for industrial and commercial facilities, helping businesses meet internal sustainability targets while supporting broader climate goals.

Energy Efficiency That Delivers Growing Environmental and Financial Impact

The comparison between past and current results highlights a clear trend: as participation grows, so does impact. Increased project volume has driven higher energy savings, greater emissions reductions, and more funding returned to customers.

Energy conservation works best when it delivers clear value. The combination of reduced energy use, lower emissions, and significant incentive funding allowed our customers to improve sustainability without financial burdens.

This reinforces the value of combining expert planning with available conservation programs to deliver sustainability improvements that are both measurable and cost‑effective.

Looking Ahead: Continuing to Support Smarter, More Efficient Facilities

This Earth Day, we’re proud to show how far these initiatives have come and how much potential still lies ahead. As energy costs rise and sustainability expectations increase, energy‑efficient solutions remain one of the most effective ways to reduce environmental impact while strengthening facility operations.

We look forward to continuing to expand these efforts and helping more organizations achieve data‑driven sustainability results year after year.
