Complete Loading Dock and Door Solutions for a New Facility

When Briway Carriers Inc. constructed its new facility in Alliston, Ontario, the goal was clear: create a modern shipping and receiving operation designed for efficiency, safety, and long-term growth.

Northern Dock Systems supplied and installed a complete door and loading dock package, including hydraulic dock levelers, dock lights, trailer restraints, dock seals, and overhead doors to support daily logistics operations while creating a safer and more productive workplace.

Overhead Sectional Doors with Vision Panels Let in Natural Light

As part of the construction of Briway Carriers Inc.’s new facility in Alliston, Ontario, Northern Dock Systems supplied and installed nine overhead doors, including both dock doors and drive-in doors.

Each door was equipped with vision panels that allowed natural light to enter the building while improving visibility throughout the loading dock. Increased sightlines help employees, forklift operators, and pedestrians better see activity around door openings and loading areas, contributing to a safer work environment.

Hydraulic Dock Equipment Improves Productivity

The new building was equipped with six Blue Giant hydraulic dock levelers and custom dock pit floors to support efficient loading and unloading operations.

Hydraulic dock levelers help employees move freight faster with the push of a button, reducing physical effort and improving workflow at the dock. Combined with steel-faced dock bumpers, the system protects both equipment and the building during daily trailer contact.

Trailer Restraints Enhance Loading Dock Safety

The project also included four Blue Giant HVR303 trailer restraints installed on doors one through four. The restraints were interlocked with the dock levelers and equipped with red/green communication lights to improve communication between dock personnel and drivers.

Dock Seals Improve Protection and Energy Efficiency

Four Blue Giant BG200 head curtain dock seals were installed to help protect the building from weather, dust, and outside elements.

Designed with a Velcro split head curtain to accommodate varying trailer heights and reinforced with four layers of wear protection, the seals provide long-lasting performance while helping maintain indoor temperatures.
